VW ID.4 Vs Rivals

See How the New VW ID.4 Measures Up Against Its Rivals in Union, NJ

If you're ready to drive a spacious, eco-friendly SUV that can travel long distances on a single charge, the new Volkswagen ID.4 is just the ticket! This small electric crossover also has innovative tech features and a budget-friendly price. Other electric vehicles (EVs) such as the new Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X are also environmentally friendly, but they don't have the overall quality and value of the ID.4. Tom's Volkswagen of Union created the following comparison of these crossovers to explain why.

Driving Range

Volkswagen ID.4

One of the biggest concerns Newark drivers have about EVs is driving range. A longer range is better so that you won't have to recharge it too frequently. The new VW ID.4 has a 275-mile driving range when equipped with the available 82-kWh battery and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive models with that same battery can go 255 miles on a full charge.

Subaru Solterra

The new Subaru Solterra has a maximum driving range of only 228 miles when fully charged. Higher trims only have a 222-mile driving range.

Toyota bZ4X

The new Toyota bZ4X has a standard driving range of just 252 miles on a single charge. Upper-tier models have driving ranges from 222 to 248 miles depending on the configuration.

Cargo Space

You'll want an expansive cargo hold to fit all your purchases from Edison Woods Shopping Center in Edison, NJ. The new Volkswagen ID.4 has 30.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats upright, and 64.2 cubic feet of room with the back seats folded down.

Subaru Solterra

The new Subaru Solterra only has 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind its back seats and 63.5 cubic feet of room with the rear seats folded.

Toyota bZ4X

The new Toyota bZ4X has 38.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up, but just 56.1 cubic feet with the back seats folded down.

Infotainment Features

A well-equipped infotainment system helps keep your mind occupied on long drives through Elizabeth, NJ. The new Volkswagen ID.4 has a feature-packed infotainment system that comes standard with a 12-inch touchscreen, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless device charging. Voice recognition technology enables hands-free operation while you drive.

Subaru Solterra

The new Subaru Solterra's standard touchscreen is only 8 inches long. Wireless device charging and navigation are just optional in the Solterra, so you have to pay more to add them.

Toyota bZ4X

The new Toyota bZ4X comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, navigation, and wireless device charging. However, voice recognition and a Wi-Fi hotspot are not available in the bZ4X.

Safety Features

Your safety is paramount, so Volkswagen equipped the new ID.4 with 14 standard driver assistance features. These handy amenities help Springfield, NJ drivers notice potential troubles in time to avoid accidents. The ID.4's rain-sensing windshield wipers activate as soon as a storm begins for better visibility.

Subaru Solterra

The new Subaru Solterra only comes with 11 standard advanced active safety features. Rain-sensing windshield wipers are not available in the Solterra.

Toyota bZ4X

The new Toyota bZ4X also comes with just 11 standard driver aids. It also doesn't offer rain-sensing windshield wipers.
