What's New for 2024?
Several changes are being made to the 2024 Volkswagen Jetta. Now VW's IQ. Drive, its driver-assistance suite is standard on the base S trim. Plus, the base model now features an eco-leather steering wheel, leather gearshift knob, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and rain-sensing wipers. In the Sport trim, drivers will find heated front seats and a lightweight spare tire, which are now standard.
2024 Jetta Trims
The 2024 Volkswagen Jetta comes in four trim levels:
S: The base trim comes with a number of amenities such as LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, and a Volkswagen Car-Net mobile app.
Sport: The Sport trim adds cosmetic and performance upgrades to the Jetta, like 17-inch alloy wheels, gloss-black front grille and exterior trim, front accent lights, and heated front seats.
SE: The SE builds on the S trim with features like a push-button start and keyless entry, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and synthetic leather upholstery.
SEL: The top-tier trim, the SEL, offers a sunroof, heated side mirrors, leather upholstery, and an 8-inch touchscreen with voice control functionality and integrated navigation.
Jetta Design
The cabin of the Jetta provides drivers with ample front passenger head, shoulder, and legroom. Every cabin caters to the driver and boasts excellent outward visibility. In the base S trim, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable seats, and a deep center console bin are standard. Features such as ambient interior lighting, wireless device charging, and ventilated front seats are reserved for the most expensive models. About seven suitcases can fit in the trunk. However, with the back seats folded, about 18 bags can fit in the car.
Jetta Performance
Under the hood of every Jetta is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but an eight-speed automatic is optional. According to the EPA, the base S with the automatic transmission has an estimated 31 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. Though, with the manual-equipped, the EPA-rated Jetta at 29/42 mpg.
Jetta Technology
In S, Sport, and SE trims, an eight-inch digital gauge cluster and a 6.4-inch touchscreen are standard. But the SEL has a 10.3-inch gauge and eight-inch display. Other features found in the SEL include a 12-speaker stereo, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability, and Volkswagen's Car-Net feature for gesture controls.
Jetta Safety Features
Even the entry-level Jetta comes with a handful of standard driver-assistance technology and upgraded equipment such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Other standard safety features include:
- Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
- Blind-spot intervention (automatically steers the car back into its lane if you try to change lanes while a car is in the vehicle's blind spot)
- Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
